RICCs (Regional Interagency Consumer Committees on Developmental Disabilities) are local groups made
of people with disabilities, family members, advocates and service providers. They meet locally at least six times a year
to help resolve local problems and assist people in acquiring supports and services.
RICC chairpersons meet most months to stay informed on state-wide issues and to help meet Council
objectives. Locally, they seek to increase opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to become more independent,
productive, and to participate more fully in the community.
The RICCs are sponsored by grants from the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council.
There are RICCs throughout the state working to help people with disabilities to advocate for change.
To increase opportunities for employment, education, independent living and adequate supports and services. RICCs help to
advocate for the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of life.
The RICCs also communicate with policy makers for change to be made in legislation for the betterment
of the disability community.
This site was built with the purpose of helping those who visit to learn more about RICC. We also
hope to provide useful information as well as share links to other related websites. Enjoy your visit and stop back
again.
